Peace – Path to POSITIVE Mental health Peace is state of calmness, state of harmony. Each one in today’s buzzing world is looking for peace in their life. Everyone wants to live their life without any conflicts- internally (within themselves) or externally (with people and the world around them) Causes for conflicts which leads to loss of peace in our life are: Stress at work- overwork, under worked, sudden loss of job, lack of motivation at work, work politics, role conflicts at work and poor performances at work Poor interpersonal relationships- lack of understandings, break ups of long standing relationships, marriage issues, and divorce Financial issues- loans, property disputes Physical ailments - chronic illness like cancer, diabetes Major life events like sudden death of loved ones. Above causes starts affecting our lives. We start thinking of the problems, gradually leads to overthinking of the problems. This leads to sleepless nights, tossing and turning all night. A sleepless night affects our productivity. Performance at work gradually goes down. We are unable to focus at work, ending up making mistakes and pulling our confidence down. Mood swings, irritability, sadness of mood creeps in affecting relationships and adding more issues rather than solving them. Anxiety, restlessness, negative thoughts about the future, palpitations, multiple body pains like headache, stomach, backache, eating problems leading to weight loss/weight gain, repetitive doctor visits. People use addiction life alcohol smoking to handle these stresses leading to further complications in life. These leads to loss of mental instability and loss of peace in life So can money alone give us the mental peace we are looking for? Can we buy this mental peace? What is the use of the life in which one is rich with all luxury when, there is so much of chaos in mind? When there are constant arguments, fights in the relationships? When there is no peace at the end of the hardworking day? So where are we looking for peace. Can we buy peace? Can we get from others? Peace comes from within. Peace starts from us. We must bring changes in us to bring peace within us. Changes are gradual but persistent efforts will definitely bring lifetime positive changes in us. If we need to see positive changes in our life, we must do the same things differently. Simple changes in life style, in our daily routine are required for much needed balance in life. We need a well-planned daily routine. Yoga meditation is essential for calmness and positive vibes. Exercise , healthy diet , work hours not more than 8 hours, social life like meeting old friends and relatives, making new friends, daily family time, playing studying with kids, weekend gateways, nature walks are simple yet effective changes which will help bringing positivity in life. Most importantly- one must learn to forgive and let go things. Holding on to events in past will only add emotional pain in our life. Hence for inner peace let’s learn the art to forgive and express gratitude for every small things happening in our life.
